Buried Treasures Dress-A-Child | Saturday, July 26 | 9:30am – 11:30am
The Dress-A-Child event is one of the ways that Buried Treasures reaches out to children of inmates. Through the support of FBCJ, Dress-a-child has provided clothes for school and church in addition to shoes and clothing accessories for 100-200 children each year since 1999.
Come be a part of these kids’ lives and be a part of letting them know that there is Hope for them through our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Five Reasons for Giving
The giving verses in the Bible-Luke 6:38, Malachi 3:8-10, Proverbs 3:9,10, and others-are often spoken as commands, followed by a promise of rewards. Why does God both command us and also says, “If you obey, think about how I am going to bless you?” The apostle Paul lived on the brink of eternity. What he saw behind him was all temporal, and what he saw ahead of him was all eternity. All eternity was the true reality; what was behind him was not reality at all. Thus, I am going to give you five reasons you should give:
1. Give in order to obey God.
2. Give in order to experience the rewards that God promises.
3. Give in order to recognize God’s ownership and provision.
4. Give in order to gain an eternal perspective.
5. Give in order to love God.

A Testimony For Tithing
It was a humbling day when I came to the realization that I had absolutely nothing to do with the amount of wealth I had. Realizing that all earthly wealth comes from God changed my perspective on tithing. When someone gives me a gift, I write a thank you note. That’s how I view tithing – it’s like a thank you note to God for all that He has given me. Rather than give grudgingly, God has allowed me to give thankfully. Looking back over the years, I cannot think of a single example of missing that money. God has always provided for our needs, and I trust wholeheartedly that He will continue to honor the commitment that we’ve made to tithe.
